Angelica and Hermelindo Nez
While Angelica and Hermelindo do have children, their filial relationship has been somewhat difficult. At age 73 and 75 respectively, the elderly couple do not have a house, and they live with kind neighbors who let them stay at their homes for short periods of time. Their children have entirely abandoned them and they do not receive any support either physically or economically from them.
Angelica and Hermelindo were once my neighbors, and I had the opportunity to offer them food and few clothing items. After helping Celia Muse with the previous humanitarian project, our goal is now to build a home for Angelica and Hermelindo and to create a small fund for food that can offer them the necessary dietary needs.
Since I was a kid, I remember Angelica and Hermelindo working all day in the fields to make a living for themselves. Even at this age, my parents report that the elderly couple still work from down to dusk to make enough money to buy food for themselves.
Their case is very personal for me, and I know that together we can give them a helping hand.
